Turner Beach II

From the Vintage Collection

Tones: Cream, Buttercream Yellow, Muted Blue, Pale Orange, Soft Gray

Why We Love It:  A vintage watercolor study of the Hebridean Islands off the coast of mainland Scotland. The expansive skies in these landscapes create plenty of negative space to make this duo a seamless addition to any gallery wall.

From The Artist:  From Joseph Mallord William Turner's Sketchbook on Skies which he painted from 1816-18. Accomplished in many mediums including etchings, watercolor and oil paintings, Turner was recognized as a prodigy who promised to be one of the most outstanding painters of his generation. Today, many of his works can be found in the Tate Museum in London.
