Quartz II

Tones: Charcoal, Slate, Taupe, White

About The Print: A mixed media painting combining hand-painted paper and acrylic paint form abstract stone shapes in soothing neutral tones.

From About The Artist: "These mixed media paintings are a continuation of the first stone series of paintings I created years ago. At the time I found myself carrying a small polished stone in my pocket because I found the weight and feel of it so soothing in my hand. It reminded me of my grandfather and how he used to tumble stones and fill empty pickle jars full of beautiful Tiger’s Eye, Agate, and Rose Quartz. I picture the shapes in these paintings as tumbling stones, with the beautiful colors and soothing weight of the stones from my childhood."
