From The Artist: My favorite way to paint abstracts is to reference a photo of a pretty place or scene, where the colors and the light inspire and flow. I squint my eyes so I only see blurry, soft shapes and I paint those shapes loosely and sometimes in new colors. I painted this series from photos I took in Hawaii in the spring of 2022.
